CarInspections.com – Terms of Service

Last Updated: July 10, 2026

These Terms of Service (the "Terms"), together with our Privacy Policy and any supplemental rules or policies referenced herein (collectively, the "Agreement"), form a legally binding contract between you ("you" or "User") and Auto Inspector LLC dba CarInspections.com, a Texas limited liability company ("CarInspections.com," "Company," "we," or "us"). PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. BY ACCESSING OR USING ANY OF THE SERVICES (DEFINED BELOW) YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS AGREEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICES.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Services. The Services are not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 18 years of age.

2. The Services

CarInspections.com operates a technology platform (the "Platform") accessible via our website, mobile web, and any mobile applications we may offer (collectively, the "Services"). The Platform enables Users to schedule and pay for pre-purchase vehicle inspections and related digital deliverables (inspection reports, AI-generated cost estimates, and VIN reports). The Services do not include mechanical repair, maintenance, towing, or smog/state inspections.

3. Booking, Payment, Cancellation & Refund Policy

When you book an inspection, we place a pre-authorization hold on your payment method. Your card is charged in full only when your inspection is completed. If we are unable to assign an inspector to your order, the hold is released and you are not charged.

  • If the vehicle is sold or otherwise becomes unavailable before we dispatch an inspector, you will not pay for an inspection we could not perform: if your card has not been charged, we release the authorization hold; if your card has been charged, we issue a full refund. At your option, you may instead keep the amount as account credit toward a future inspection.
  • If CarInspections.com, in its sole discretion, determines that a job is unserviceable (e.g., unsafe location, inspector unavailable), we will release the hold or refund the fees related to the unserviceable portion.
  • Cancelling your order. To cancel, contact us at info@carinspections.com. If the vehicle has been sold, the seller independently declines the inspection, or we cannot service your area, we release the hold in full (or fully refund a charged card) at no cost to you. If you cancel for any other reason before your inspection is completed, you may choose either: (a) a $35 cancellation fee, with the remainder of the hold released to your card; or (b) no fee, with the full authorized amount issued as account credit toward a future inspection.
  • If you decide not to buy the vehicle, tell us — not just the seller. If your inspector travels to the vehicle location and the inspection cannot proceed because you cancelled the purchase, failed to notify us, or the seller refuses access due to your cancellation, the full authorized amount may be charged as set out below.
  • To reschedule an inspection, contact us at info@carinspections.com. Additional travel or wait-time fees may apply at our discretion.

Once an inspector has been dispatched to the vehicle location or the inspection has been performed, fees are non-refundable and the full authorized amount may be charged. This includes cases where the inspection cannot be completed because you cancelled or withdrew from the purchase (for example, the seller refuses access after you back out), and inspections that reveal a fraudulent or misrepresented listing — the inspection service was performed as ordered.

4. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CARINSPECTIONS.COM'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE INSPECTION GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

5. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of laws principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Services or this Agreement shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will be conducted in Austin, Texas. You and CarInspections.com waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in class actions.
