Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our inspection service
General Questions
A pre-purchase car inspection is a comprehensive evaluation of a vehicle's condition performed by a professional inspector before purchase. It helps identify any existing or potential issues that could affect the vehicle's value or safety.
We typically complete inspections within 1-2 business days after your order, depending on scheduling availability. We operate Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Central time. While we strive for next-day completion when possible, timing depends on factors like the seller's availability and weather conditions. Weekend inspections are not available. For the best chance at quick scheduling, we recommend placing your order as early as possible.
Our comprehensive 200+ point inspection covers every critical aspect of the vehicle to ensure you know exactly what you're buying.

We use a smart payment authorization process to protect both you and our inspectors. When you book an inspection, we'll place a temporary authorization hold on your payment method to secure your order. Your card will only be charged once an inspector accepts your inspection request. If no inspector is available in your area, the authorization hold will be automatically released and you won't be charged. This ensures you only pay when we can fulfill your inspection order.
You'll need to provide the vehicle's location, seller's contact information, and any specific concerns you'd like the inspector to address.
After the inspection is completed, you'll receive a detailed digital report via email, including photos and recommendations.
No, we do not perform inspections at auction locations. Our service is designed for private seller and dealership transactions where our inspector can thoroughly evaluate the vehicle without the time constraints and limitations of an auction environment.
If the vehicle sells before we can complete the inspection, you'll receive a full refund. If your card was already charged, we'll issue a complete refund. If we only placed a pre-authorization hold on your payment method, we'll release it immediately. Either way, you won't be charged for an inspection that couldn't be completed.
Yes! We'll send our mechanic to physically verify the vehicle and location, and document everything with photos. We've uncovered many fraudulent listings where the car or location didn't even exist. Our inspector will note any red flags in the report, giving you the evidence you need to make an informed decision. Please note that since we dispatch an inspector to the location regardless of what they find, the full inspection fee applies even if the listing turns out to be fraudulent.
No, for privacy and logistical reasons, direct communication with inspectors is not available. However, during checkout there is a section where you can add special notes or instructions for the inspector, such as specific areas of concern or details about the vehicle you'd like them to focus on.
Yes, our inspectors assess the interior for signs of smoke exposure, including odors, discoloration, and residue on surfaces.
Yes, identifying prior accident and flood damage is a key part of our inspection. Our inspectors look for signs such as mismatched paint, uneven panel gaps, water stains, and corrosion. While not all damage is visible without disassembly, our thorough evaluation catches the majority of issues.
Yes, our inspectors perform a visual assessment of the frame for rust, corrosion, and signs of structural damage. Keep in mind that confirming whether a frame is bent requires placing the vehicle on a frame machine at a specialized shop, which is beyond the scope of a mobile inspection.
No, emissions testing requires specialized equipment at a dedicated facility and cannot be performed in the field. For vehicles 1996 and newer, our inspector connects a diagnostic scanner to the vehicle's OBD-II port, which can flag certain emissions-related codes. However, this is not a substitute for an official emissions test in your state.
No, compression testing is not included in our inspection. This is an invasive procedure that most sellers do not permit, and it carries liability concerns that make it impractical for a mobile inspection.
Since we are a mobile service, our inspectors do not bring a lift to the inspection location. They thoroughly examine the undercarriage using cameras and mirrors, which allows them to document and assess the condition underneath the vehicle. If the vehicle is at a dealership, you can ask the dealer if a lift is available for the inspector to use.
No, and we actually ask that customers not be present during the inspection. This allows our inspectors to work without distractions and focus entirely on delivering a thorough, unbiased evaluation. That's the whole point of our service โ we handle everything so you don't have to. We'll inspect the vehicle, document our findings, and send you a detailed report.
Yes, a road test is part of every inspection, provided the vehicle is street legal, safe to drive, and the seller gives permission. In some cases โ such as with oversized vehicles like RVs or commercial trucks โ the inspector may not be able to drive the vehicle themselves due to size or liability constraints. In those situations, the seller or their representative may drive while the inspector evaluates the vehicle's performance.
